    Amazing lightweight hiking backpack value
I really like this backpack.I already own the Teton Sports Oasis so I was researching packs and saw they came out with the Numa. I bought the blue version and it looks pretty nice. The exterior is pretty durable. I’ve put it to a little test by resting it on snow and it’s been fine. There is an external rain pouch that is there for when I run into terrible weather. I like that the pack collapses pretty thin when it’s lightly packed. The harness system is quite comfortable. There is ample padding on the back and the straps. The sternum strap is pretty good and I haven’t had to use the waist belt yet. At a bit over 2LBS this pack feels almost like nothing. The organization is adequate for a pack this size. My favorite aspects are the front long zipper pocket and the loops to attach carabiner clips to. There are also two small zip pockets (one with a keychain holder) and a laptop/water reservoir. There are also two stretchy water bottle holders that can handle small to medium sized water bottles with ease.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very versatile and well made pack!
Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2016
I purchased this pack to upgrade from an old external frame pack that has seen better days. This pack will be used for travel, but also for 2-3 trips to the woods,f or hiking and backpacking, primarily during spring, summer, and fall. The adjustable torso length feature appealed to us, since we have discovered that the pack can be comfortably used by me (5'6) or my much taller (6' + ) husband. We have given it a few test runs, and have deemed that it appears or be a very durable, comfortable, and versatile pack.
The pack fits us both, with multiple, easy, adjustments at shoulder and waist. The pack is comfortable to wear on even steep uphill climbs; it is not a particularly lightweight pack, but even when loaded, the load is barely noticeable,as the weight seems comfortable dispersed. The pack has good air flow and ventilation. The sternum strap can slide up and down to vary adjustment, and has an integrated whistle in the buckle. The black pack is sharp looking, with nice color trim, and will not show the dirt and grime that will accumulate as we use this through the years!
We determined the pack has adequate capacity for a few days; sleeping gear, backpacking kitchen, food, and a few clothes...we also found room for our dog's food. The lower compartment held a Teton Tracker +5 sleeping bag, with a snug fit, but we could not put my husbands XXL sleeping bag into this compartment.
The pack has multiple attachment straps, accessory loops, and a small pouch on the hip belt ( which we found great for dog treats!). My Tubbs Snowshoes easily attached to the outside of the pack with the horizontal straps, and poles are secured nicely to the side of the pack. The side mesh pockets are deep, and hold a water bottle securely. There are 2 side access zippers, making it very easy to get into the main compartment, even when he pack is loaded and secured.
We always carry a tarp with us, for emergency use. This pack comes with a combo poncho/rain fly/emergency shelter...a bit on the heavy side, but very nice, large, and it easily fits into the top compartment of the pack.
We feel that this pack is a great investment, and we look forward to continuing to utilize it in many different conditions. It is versatile, and offers many possibilities for packing, gear attachment, and use by folks of different size. We feel confident in our recommendation!

5.0 out of 5 stars TETON Mountain Adventure 4000 - Extremely well made
Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2024
This bag is awesome, and really well engineered. I've taken it on some serious adventures and I wouldn't want any other bag on my back. The picture is the only one I have of the bag in use, this was it's 3rd expedition and it's just like new, not so much as a loose thread after 20+ miles of trekking.

My standard camp outfit is around 45lbs of ultralight gear, including the weight of the bag and water, I have no issue hauling this for miles a day. It's comfy - just be sure to size it correctly before you load it up, and pack it with the heavy stuff in the middle. If you know what you're doing you will love this pack. (If you don't know what you're doing you might end up crying like that reviewer that said he was in the fetal position with hurt shoulders. Sorry dude, stick with car camping)

If you're backpacking you will want a larger bag like this one, especially if you are carrying extra weight for younger adventurers, or if you're belaying - This has all the features to hold your climbing gear and give you easy access to it.

Get into the wild. Go have fun.

Reviewed in Canada on March 12, 2023
I bought this bag as an entry level multi day hiking/camping pack. He’s approximately 56” tall and 65lbs. His pack is fitted to within 90% of the smallest it’ll adjust but fits him extremely well and will accommodate growth and adjustment into his adult years. The pack fully opens to offer access to the entirety of the inside items, plenty of longer outside storage pockets for housing a bush saw or spring polls. There are loads of external rugged mounting points for clips and carabiners and the double overall stitching looks solid. Hopefully it holds up for the intended rigours we plan to put it through but at this time I’m very pleased with its quality. Definitely worth the price.
